Had my appt with Haematologies. The bone marrow test shows i'm in cytogenetic remission, which is 2nd stage. There is a total of 3 stages. last one is molecular remission. So i'm on my way to recovery. Doc is very happy with my current condition and he mentioned i am the first one taking dasatinib that move to stage 2 in 3 months.
My HB is 12.9 and therefore i don't have to take iron pills anymore. So happy.:)
My next appt will be on Sept where i'll be going for my bone marrow test. Good Luck to me.

Gynae appointment on 17 Jul
Had my appointment with Gynae in the morning. I finally decide to go for mirena because iit reduced menses effectively. Suprising, the cost is not so ex, only $200+. Gynae say there will be bleeding or spotting a least for 6-12 weeks. But it is ok, i'm thinking in long term i could save cost in pads and no more tired nites during heavy days for the next 5 yrs

Medical Appointment (16th June)
This day i went for my heart echo test and bone marrow test. I was told my heart was slightly bigger. This worries me. The bone marrow test was a bit painful. But still bearable.
I also meet my haematologist. Blood is normal. Will be seeing him again in 6 weeks.

Medical Appointment
Today is my bi-weekly appt with the haematologist. As usual, all the blood count is low. But what worry me most is my HB. In 2 weeks, it had gone down from 10+ to 8+. I was really worried because it was cause by my super heavy menses, 1 week ago. I'll return to see him in 4 weeks time.
I'll be seeing my Gynae tomorrow. Hope he can prescrible some medicine for me or else i worry i'll bleed to death in the next cycle. Cross my fingers

Medical Appointment
I"m progressing well with the medication. Today my Hb, WBC and Platelet's result is still low but doctor says it is still in acceptable range. Menses comes yesterday and i'm worry it will get too heavy. Doctor had not contacted my Gynae yet and he want to monitor my mense for one more time. Appointment will be schdeule in 2 weeks time

My current state
My appetite is getting huge nowadays. It is one of the side effects. Oh, i don't want to be a fattie again. I'm very satsfied with my current built. Now i'm very cautious about my food selection. I try to stay away from fried, BBQ, seafood.
Another thing is my constipation is getting worse. Now with taking 2 iron pills. it just make things worst. Everyday, i got to take lots of fruit and fybogel

Medical Appointment
Today i went for my followup. Done 3 blood test in 0,30mins,2hr interval. Nurse had to put a catheter into my vein because my veins was very fine and difficult to find. The blood test results all low. Doctor say still within the acceptable range and i could still continue the medicine.
Today i return my medicine bottle to my co-ordinator and there is still 2 pills leftover. My other patient friend who is doing the same trial as me return her a empty bottle. 3 of us were puzzled how come we returned different ones. The coordinator will check and revert back to us.
Next appointment is 2 weeks later

Discovery of my illiness
Many friends and relatives had shown concern about my health. I was very touch by their gesture. Basically to recap what happen to me from mid dec 07 till now.
Mid Dec 07 :
It started with a cough. I had been coughing for 1 month plus and still no signs of recovery. My GP noticed i was pale and ask if i had irregular menses. I tell her i did had heavy menses. She touch my tummy and feel a bulge. She suspect i had a fibroid and refer me to KKH.
Before i went to KKH, i consult a private gynae. Ultrasound shows i got a huge fibroid of approx 10cm or more. Some blood test was done and it shows my platelet count is 1600+ and HB is 4.3. Private gynae immediately ask me to be admit to hospital. But thinking of the medical fee, i reject him.
Few days later, i visit the KKH gynae. On that very day i was admitted to KKH. Was given 2 packets of blood. More blood test and ultrasound was taken. On the 3rd day, gynae inform me the HB had improved to 9+ but platelet count is still above 1500+. I was discharge and refer to SGH to consult a Haematologist. Gynae say i need to stablise my blood condition before i proceed with the fibroid removal surgery.
End Dec 07
I was again admitted to SGH upon my first day consulation to Haematologist. Following, more test like blood, CT scan, bone marrow, X-ray was performed. It was confirmed i had CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). The haematologist informed me there is a recent medical trial test that i can join. It will help me to save my medical fees. But the medicine can only be take after i had my fibroid removed.
I go back to my gynae in KKH. She advised me to have operation in SGH as KKH don't have facilities for leukemia patients. I was recommended to SGH gynae.
15 Jan 08
This is my day of surgery. I had a myomectomy. My fibroid measures 18cm. More like a size of a small coconut. I stay in the hospital for 2 weeks. It was a painful experience. I still remember the first day, i had to keep injecting the pain killer to ease my pain. The 2nd day, i was forced to get out of my bed with my urine bag attached to me. Subsecquently, my wound get worse, i got blood clot due to my high platete count. Doc and nurses had to squeeze my wound to get the blood clot out. 2 weeks later, when i was discharged, i had a huge gapping wound which i need to see my GP regulary for wound washing.
On the fourth week of my surgery, i went back to SGH gynae, he perform a stich to close up my gaping wound. On the fifth week (CNY eve), i went back SGH to remove my stiches.
Everything went well smoothly after that. I started my trial medicine Dasatinib on 13 Mar 08 with a few side effects, joint aching, body ache. I'll be going back to see the haemo doc again next week.
